  3. This directory contains a subset of University of Texas Department
  4. of Computer Sciences Technical Reports. 
  5.  
  6. The file named abstrax contains the report number, author, date of publication,
  7. and abstract of each report.
  8.  
  9. The file named index contains the report number and author.
  10.  
  11. Permission is granted at this time for the operations and uses listed
  12. below.  However, this permission is non-transferable and is subject to
  13. revocation on a report-by-report basis, due to possible copyright
  14. transfers that are normal in the publication process.  Any additional
  15. copyright restrictions are noted in the reports themselves.  Default
  16. permissions are for anonymous ftp, electronic viewing, and single-copy
  17. printing.  Permissible uses are research and browsing.  Specifically
  18. prohibited are SALES of any copy, whether electronic or hardcopy, of
  19. any of these reports for any purpose.  Also prohibited is copying,
  20. excerpting or extensive quoting of any report in another work without
  21. the written permission of one of the report's authors.

  23. Technical report file names in this directory consist 
  24. of the prefix "tr"  followed
  25. by the technical report number, and finally a suffix indicating the
  26. file format.  Technical report numbers consist of two numbers, the
  27. left-most one representing the year. The file format is either 
  28. a postscript file (e.g., tr92-06.ps.), or a compressed postscript
  29. file (e.g., tr92-06.ps.Z).  If the file is compressed, you should,
  30. after you have ftpd it to your site, uncompress it using the Unix command
  31. uncompress <file-name>.

  33. If you wish to order hard copy of any of these technical reports, there is a
  34. minimal fee. The prices are listed below.

  36. less that 30 pages    $1.50
  37. 31-40 pages        $2.00
  38. 41-50 pages        $2.50
  39. 51-60 pages        $3.00
  40. 61 or more pages    $5.00
